it baffles me that we seem to think we can't trust a private entity (which can fail and go out of business) but we'll trust a government (which can make promises one day, get elected and then do whatever it wants without consequence) Accountability requires shorter terms. A business if it fucks up too bad too quickly, will get sued, people wont buy their stuff. A govt can fuck the economy or rights of its people until... well I guess it decides to let go of power, because well they also control the police and military. Make it make sense.
